(Eds.): Kanada und die USA &#8211; interkulturelle Perspektiven \/ Aspects of Interculturality \u2013 Canada and the United States \/ Perspectives interculturelles \u2013 Le Canada et les Etats-Unis, Vienna, 33-50<\/p>\n<h3>Kurzfassung<\/h3>\n<p>Am Beispiel der St\u00e4dte Vancouver und Seattle untersucht der Vortrag Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede kanadischer und U.S.-amerikanischer St\u00e4dte. Als Ausgangshypothese wird dabei unterstellt, dass der \u00f6konomische Globalisierungsprozess mit seinen sozialen Folgen zu einer Verringerung der Unterschiede zwischen beiden Gesellschaftssystemen und ihren r\u00e4umlichen (Stadt-)Strukturen f\u00fchrt. Da beide St\u00e4dte zahlreiche Gemeinsamkeiten aufweisen, ist es m\u00f6glich, konvergente und divergente Faktoren der Stadtentwicklung zu identifizieren, ohne dass der Vergleich durch externe Einfl\u00fcsse behindert wird.
